Nigerian singer, Victor Okafor Uchenna also known as Mr Real, has revealed that he rejected music star, Davido’s offer to fund the video shoot for his hit song, ‘Legbegbe.’

He explained during an episode of the Terms and Conditions podcast, that he declined the offer at the time because his colleague, Idowest, fabricated stories about him for Davido’s DMW crew.

The artiste said he was actually looking for funds to shoot the video and he would not have ordinarily turned down the offer if not or what he discovered about Idowest.

Mr Real said: “This guy, Idowest, had gone to 30BG and said things that I didn’t say. Do you know how I found out? When I was looking for funds to shoot ‘Legbegbe’ video, Idowest and Obadice came and told me that Davido wanted to shoot the video for us.

“But I said I don’t want anyone to shoot the video for me. And the reason why was because I had already seen the green snake and everything thing he was doing.

“On a norm, how can I reject Davido’s offer to shoot my video? But as a soji guy, me I realised that they want to run me street already; una wan come complete am with the video thing, wey be say na only one scene I go show.”

Meanwhile, in another news…

He said that he recorded the song ‘Issa Banger’ with D’Banj but did not get paid, neither has he been receiving royalties even as the track became a hit.

According to Mr Real, he decided to call them out during the interview because the duo no longer pick up his calls nor replied to his messages.

He said; I have a song with D’Banj. I was the one that brought my producer, Cracker and Slimcase, on board, and we made that song [‘Issa Banger’]. The song blew. And we shot the video with love and all.

I’m not saying I’m being ungrateful for what you’ve done. But give me what is rightly mine. It’s my right. The song is being used in movies, even American movies, and I haven’t received any royalty. When we recorded ‘Overload,’ there was no contract. There is no split sheet. He [Mr Eazi] didn’t give me anything. Till today, there is nothing.

And the truth is that these people [my colleagues] know what they are doing. The same Mr Eazi called me for another feature with Legendury Beatz. The two features he called me for, I didn’t waste time before sending my vocals to him. There is this saying that when you do a favour, you don’t expect them to do something in return. Omo, me I dey expect o. When I do you a favour, I expect you to render same to me.

We also need their kind of money. We want to live the Island life too. You guys should help us. I’m not calling you out for anything but you should know you’re supposed to do this. I know if I message you, you won’t answer me. If I call D’banj, he no dey pick my call. Mr Eazi no dey
