The Nigerian Police, DSS, and Military, with the assistance of Joint Security Operatives, attempted to arrest Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, along the Lagos- Ibadan express road in the early hours of Friday, but the operation failed because there were enough supporters of the Yoruba freedom fighter and activist to retaliate.
Following the release of the video of the attempted arrest, several people found that Chief Sunday Igboho was not wearing a shirt and was seen walking furiously and angrily along the road with his boys guiding him. But when he spoke to a popular radio station known as City FM in Lagos today, he revealed the real reason why his clothes had to be stripped.
On a radio show called City Talk on City FM in Lagos, he revealed this while speaking with Ruben Abati, a well- known journalist and politician. The interview was conducted over the phone, and he was asked why he didn’ t put on any clothes during the attempted arrest.
He stated that he was putting on a cloth when one of the security agents who came to arrest him began dragging his cloth, and in that respect, he had to take off the cloth so that he could move freely, ” he explained.
He also disclosed that it wasn’ t the police who came to arrest him, but rather the DSS, and the Military men, and some civil defence personnel. He went so far as to show one of their codes in his description. And at the end of the day, he vowed to continue fighting for the sake of the Yoruba, and he pledged not to back down in that respect.
