Barry Haley, a former athletic director at Concord-Carlisle High School, passed away early on Saturday. Haley announced his retirement in a Boston Herald article, saying, “I enjoy the position that I’m in and I really love working with the students, coaches, and Concord-Carlisle communities, but I’ve reached the point in my life where at the end of next June, I will have been in various school positions for 41 years, with 31 years as a high athletic director.
It’s time, as they say.” David Lezenski, the athletic director at Lowell, told the Herald that Barry “was a terrific mentor to all of us.” More significantly, he was a great family man who loved his wife and kids dearly. Today, the world of athletic administration lost a titan. It’s a very sad day today.
