Joel Scott Osteen, an American Christian preacher, televangelist, businessman, and author, was born on March 5, 1963, and he presently resides in Houston, Texas. His full name is Joel Scott Osteen. Osteen, who is well-known for his weekly televised services and many books that have achieved best-seller status, is one of the most well-known figures related with the concept of prosperity theology.
Houston, Texas is the place where Joel Osteen, one of John and Dolores “Dodie” Pilgrim’s six children, made his debut into the world. Lakewood Church, of which Osteen is the current senior pastor, was founded in the back of a defunct feed shop by his father, who had previously served as a preacher in the Southern Baptist Convention. He graduated from Humble High School, which is a public high school located in Humble, Texas, and received his high school diploma there.
In 1981, he went to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with the intention of majoring in radio and television communications. Nevertheless, he did not finish his education there and did not get a degree from the divinity school there. After moving back to Houston in 1982, he launched the Lakewood television program and produced his father’s televised sermons for the subsequent 17 years, up to the time that his father passed away suddenly from a heart attack in January 1999.
On April 4, 1987, Osteen wed Victoria Osteen, whose maiden name was Iloff. Victoria Osteen went on to become a co-pastor of Lakewood Church after her marriage to Osteen. They are parents to a girl as well as a son. In the year 2002, his younger sister April, together with his elder siblings Paul, Lisa, and Tamara, and his half-brother Justin, were all serving in various capacities on a mission.
Osteen and his family live in a mansion in River Oaks that has a total area of 17,000 square feet and costs 10.5 million dollars to maintain. Osteen asserts that he does not get a salary as the senior pastor of the church, despite the fact that the church has an annual budget of $70 million, and instead relies on the income from the sales of his books.
